In the case of an event emergency, please contact the Department of Public Safety through the emergency number at 843.953.5611. Calls are answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Marked emergency telephones are located throughout campus and can be used to report emergencies during an event. For non-emergency officer assistance, call Public Safety dispatch at 843.953.5609.

The Department of Public Safety provides a comprehensive program of police, security, crime prevention, fire safety, emergency medical, parking, and related public safety services to help ensure that the campus community, including guests at events, enjoys a safe and pleasant environment.

The Department of Public Safety maintains direct contact with the Charleston Police and Fire Departments, assuring prompt assistance and support from those agencies when needed.
